We carefully source the world’s finest natural animal fibers from regions renowned for their quality. Our materials include Merino wool from Australia, cashmere from the Kashmir Plateau, yak wool from the Himalayas, camel hair from Mongolia, mulberry silk from China’s Jiangnan region, Angora from Europe, and alpaca wool from the Andes. At Atelier Clotho, all our animal fibers are humanely collected. Our primary material, Merino wool, grows year-round and is responsibly sheared to ensure sheep health. Cashmere, angora, and other fine fibers are gently combed during natural molting seasons. For silk, we use only “peace silk,” allowing silkworms to complete their lifecycle before collection. Each choice respects nature, ensuring a harmony between premium quality and sustainability.

At Atelier Clotho, we believe true sustainability lies in durability, quality, and harmony with nature. Our 100% natural animal fibers are inherently sustainable, boasting a stronger fiber structure, exceptional resistance to wear, superior insulation, and remarkable longevity. In contrast, synthetic fibers, derived from petroleum byproducts, generate significant environmental pollution during production and are not biodegradable. Similarly, so-called sustainable recycled wool involves breaking down old fibers, weakening their structure, and resulting in garments prone to pilling, diminished warmth, and shorter lifespans. By crafting garments from 100% cruelty-free animal fibers, we honor our commitment to respecting both nature and its creatures.
